How old do you have to be to work at In-N-Out Burger?

In-N-Out Burger doesn't publish a minimum age for its entry-level jobs, and the postings we checked don't state one. Some roles do: Custodial Associate require 18+. Your state's law sets the floor.

In-N-Out's official careers pages don't list a minimum age for Store Associates, and we couldn't confirm one from a current posting. The Clean-Up (custodial) job requires you to be 18 or older. To find out the age for a Store Associate job, ask a manager at the store or email careers@innout.com.

We found no official In-N-Out page or posting that hires 14- or 15-year-olds. Even where state law allows it, In-N-Out doesn't have to hire at that age, so check with the store directly.

In-N-Out has never franchised, so every store is company-owned. But the company says each store makes its own hiring decisions, and your state's child labor law can also limit what under-18s can do and how many hours they can work.

The company lists a free burger and fries every time you work, flexible shifts around school, paid vacation for part-time associates, and profit sharing and 401(k) once you're eligible. It doesn't publish pay on its main careers pages.
